Maggie Hudson appeared in Deadwood in the Fall of 1896. By January of 1898 she was gone. In that short time she discovered a murder victim, was a witness at the following trial, and she bore a son out of wedlock. Where she came from and where she went remain a mystery that her son wanted to solve his entire life.
