Crushed Banana Cake
This recipe is from the collection of Theresa Bohman Stangl via my cousin Cathy R ca 1920s.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup banana pulp
1 and 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 Tsp baking powder
1 and 1/2 cups sugar
4 Tbsp sour milk
1 Tsp soda
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 Tsp salt
2 eggs
Cream the butter, add sugar and cream again. Add the well beaten eggs and the cup of ripe banana pulp which has been rubbed through a sieve. Dissolve the soda in the sour milk and beat into the mixture, and lastly add the flour that has been sifted with the salt and baking powder. Beat well then add the chopped walnuts and bake in a tube pan in a moderate oven 15 to 20 minutes.
