Anna Ertl Bohman Hamus
Anna Ertl was my 3rd great grandmother. She was born 29 October 1858 in Chalupy, West Bohemia, Czech Republic (formerly Friedrichsthal, Germany) at dwelling number 12 to Johann Ertl and Dorothea Masanetz Ertl. The link to her birth record can be seen here.
Anna’s life was full of challenges. Her marriage to Jacob Bohman was not a happy one. Her life as a pioneer in the town of Auburndale, Wood County, Wisconsin was not an easy one. Anna was a survivor. Thankfully Anna’s second marriage was a happy one and in the last part of her life she was able to experience peace and security both at home and in life.

The details of Anna’s life are found in the Squaw Creek Homestead series of previous blog posts. She died 9 February 1947 at the home of her daughter Rose Bohman Weigel in the town of McMillan in Wood County, Wisconsin. Her Find A Grave memorial can be viewed here.
