Yosh’s Pickles

Tante Yosh was my great grandmother’s (Viola Widmann Weigel) sister in law, Rosalyn Weigel Adler. This recipe was in Granny Vi’s collection.

Yosh’s Sliced Pickles from Cora

I used a double receipt

1 gal cucumbers

8 small white onions

1/2 red pepper

1/2 green pepper

1/2 C. salt

Let stand 3 hours or overnite and drain in A.M.

Then add

4 C. sugar

3 C. vinegar

1 C. water

1/2 tsp. tumeric

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

scant 2 Tbsp. mustard seed

scant 2 tsp. celery seed

Boil until clear and can
